KC Busy Bees
Mrs. Peterson and Mrs. Schreiber
On MakerSpace Day students were challenged to create an American symbol using any materials in our MakerSpace. The designs they came up with were impressive. Later in the day they worked in small groups to complete a STEM challenge. The challenge was for students to find a way to hold a book up on a structure built using only paper and tape. Lastly, students went to various MakerSpace groups based on their interests. The groups included animals, crafts, costume design, cooking and baking, woodworking, and coding and robotics. Unfortunately Mrs. Schreiber and I were unable to get pictures of these MakerSpace groups since we each had our own groups that we were quite busy working with.
7th grade students joined the busy bees to read with us one morning last week. KC students loved having the visitors and were fully engaged in reading with their new buddies.
Kindergarteners performed a Spanish version of The Three Little Pigs in Senora Rentel's class.
Mrs. Fisher visited the Busy Bees to share with them their family's Christmas time traditions. She shared about a steam train they visit in Michigan every year, a fruit dish they make using quince, and a reindeer handprint craft that her children make every year. She helped students create their own reindeer craft, and even brought gift bags for them to decorate and put the craft in as a gift for you.
